An Investment in your healing.
Discover why online yoga is the perfect choice for busy lifestyles. Learn the benefits of practising yoga from home, improve flexibility, reduce stress, and stay consistent with expert-led uncomplicated Yoga in the comfort of your own home.
You don't have to be flexible to practice yoga. And just 15 minutes a day can be beneficial. You don't need pretzel shapes that might put strain on your joints, especially if you are in the midst of ageing, becoming less mobile, recovering from illness/injury, stress related issues, or a Beginner to Yoga, or someone returning to their practice after a while. It's great if you can practice the more dynamic power/fitness styles of yoga, and the beauty of yoga is its progression. Every time you are on your mat, you begin to feel different, more vibrant, more motivated.
Online classes can be a stepping stone to finally joining face to face classes once you feel more confident and at ease with the general flow of a typical yoga class.
Life is busier than ever. Or, it can be lonely, isolating especially if you are retired. Either way, between work, family, gardening, caring for others and everyday responsibilities, finding time to look after yourself can sometimes feel impossible to fit in.
The good news is that taking care of your wellbeing doesn't have to involve travelling to a studio, gym, or Leisure Centre. Many online classes offer no subscriptions or memberships, just pay-as-you-go.
Check out my free trial online class so you can see how the technology works and how you can find a small space in your home to roll out your yoga mat. Any Thursday evening to suit you, the classes are 7.00pm - 8.30pm:
There is no membership or subscriptions, just pay-as-you-go, when you can join us.
Online yoga classes bring the benefits of yoga directly into your home, making it easier than ever to build a consistent practice.
Practice Wherever You Feel Most Comfortable
One of the greatest advantages of online yoga is the freedom to practise in your own space. Whether it's your living room, bedroom, or even your garden, your home can become a peaceful sanctuary where you can move, breathe, and relax without distractions.
There's no need to worry about rushing through traffic or finding parking. Simply roll out your mat, log in, and begin.
Yoga Is for Every Body
Many people believe they need to be flexible before starting yoga. The truth is, yoga helps you become more flexible—it isn't a requirement.
Online classes are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Sometimes with an overload on your body of rigorous training/sports, a Slow Yoga class can act as a balance for your muscles, limbs and mindset.
Pregnancy Yoga: Not all classes are suitable for Pregnancy or Post-Pregnancy. We suggest you find your nearest Birthlight Yoga Class https://birthlight.com/directory/
Every pose can be adapted to meet your individual needs, allowing you to practise safely and confidently at your own pace. Your Yoga Teacher should always suggest alternative moves/use of props to assist you. Or, you simply pause and rest and tune into your breath for a minute or two.
Yoga is not about achieving the perfect pose; it's about connecting with your body, improving your wellbeing, and enjoying the journey. A lot has been written about 'alignment' in Yoga. Often the 'perfect' alignment simply does not suit your body and you might find yourself forcing your body into moves that can cause injury. Yes! Yoga can cause injury! So we learn to 'listen' to our body and stop before we go too far. The progression in range of movement comes later. At first, be kind to yourself.
More Than Just Physical Exercise
Yoga offers so much more than stretching and strengthening.
Each class combines mindful movement, breathing techniques, and moments of relaxation to help:
Reduce stress and anxiety
Improve posture and mobility
Build strength and balance
Increase flexibility
Improve focus and concentration
Support better sleep
Create a greater sense of calm and wellbeing
Even one class can leave you feeling lighter, calmer, and more in tune with yourself.
A Community - Your 'tribe'
Although classes take place online - and you will probably be asked to keep your camera on at all times for the Teacher to see you - there are other's in the online class who are learning the current limits of their body too and you should quite quickly 'feel at home' as
everyone is encouraged to learn without judgement. You'll receive expert guidance, have opportunities to ask questions of your Teacher, sometimes during the class and sometimes in a private online chat afterwards. It should feel that you are sharing your journey with like-minded people - that the Teacher is accessible, friendly and puts you at ease - and you can interact as little or not at all. Its your yoga class.
Simple to Get Started
You don't need expensive equipment or a dedicated yoga room.
All you need is:
A yoga mat
Comfortable clothing
A quiet space
A cushion or blanket for support if needed
And remember not to eat heavily before a class. At least 2 hours before - just have a simple snack, a banana or yoghurt - as Yoga is practised on an empty/near empty stomach. There is twisting and squashing of the internal bits of your body!!!
That's it.
